The Varmints came together in the summer of 2005. Travis Baze, the lead singer and rythym guitar player, started playing at Paul's Open Mic Jam Session. It was held every Wednesday night at the Robin Hood bar in Union,
Washington. After a couple weeks of playing solo, Travis invited David McCray, our other lead singer and backup singer, to sing with him. A couple weeks later Travis invited Thomas Roberts, the drummer, to play the drums. After playing
with Thomas he invited Justin Baze, the lead guitar player, and Shay Masteller, the bass player, to play a couple songs. After a few weeks of sharing the stage we decided to form a band and we called ourselves The Varmints.
We came together playing classic rock tunes such as Sweet Home Alabama, Green River, and Mary Jane's Last Dance and we still play mostly classic rock cover tunes. With the help of Jesse Dexter, our soundboard operator,
and Dave Anderson, our P.A. operator/owner, we rock n' roll all night long. |
